MIX1 RECEIVES BSCG CERTIFICATION FOR ITS PROTEIN SHAKES
Third-party BSCG is the gold standard in dietary supplement certification
(LOS ANGELES)– The protein shakes manufactured and distributed by mix1 Life, Inc. (MIXX) have been certified by BSCG (Banned Substances Control Group) under its Certified Drug Free® program, it was announced today by BSCG and mix1.
“We are proud that mix1’s products have been certified by BSCG for use by consumers and athletes,” said Cameron Robb, CEO of mix1. “BSCG is the most highly regarded certification program that tests supplement products and audits supplement manufacturers.”
Considered by many to be the gold standard in the industry, BSCG’s Certified Drug Free® program is especially rigorous, testing for more than 207 drugs banned by sporting groups including WADA, NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, MLS, PGA, LPGA, NCAA. BSCG also covers 185 prescription and over-the-counter drugs not banned in sport, making it the only certification provider to do so.
“Samples of mix1 products have been analyzed for a complete list of drugs prohibited by sport including those banned by WADA, USADA, NHL, NFL, MLB, MLS, PGA, LPGA, NCAA, NASCAR and other drug testing programs. No prohibited compounds were detected,” stated Oliver Catlin, President of BSCG in Los Angeles, CA. “As a result, the mix1 products may now carry the BSCG Certified Drug Free® seal letting customers know that the company and its finished products have met rigorous quality standards above and beyond industry requirements.”
Supplement use is up over the past few years, according to surveys, but government agencies such as the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) do not test the majority of such products. Not only can hidden substances be dangerous but athletes are held liable for any banned substance found during drug testing, regardless of its origin. No product BSCG has certified has ever resulted in a positive drug test.
“Athletes must be extremely careful about what they put into their bodies,” said Brad Robb, Sports Marketing Executive of mix1. “We have found that a substantial number of athletes feel supplements are a vital part of their training regimen, so we take the extra step to ensure our products are safe for them as well as consumers at large.”
BSCG (Banned Substances Control Group) is a leading third-party dietary supplement certification provider founded in 2004 by renowned sports anti-doping pioneer Don Catlin, M.D., his son, industry leader Oliver Catlin, and respected Los Angeles attorney Ryan Connolly. In addition to its thorough, science-based testing menu, BSCG also regularly tests products for label verification, identity and contaminants and audits manufacturers for Good Manufacturing Practices(GMP) compliance.
